Downshift?or what??

Ok, I've got a 355, carb'ed w/ every imaginable performance part in the engine. So, it's pretty beefed up. Anyways, I'm running a raptor 700-r4 w a shift kit and OD, and was wondering why my car(when in D)not OD, comes to a complete stop, it makes a thud kinda sound?I mean right before my car stops moving. Someone
told me it was because of my converter or stall. This other guy told me it was my car downshifting hard b/c of the shift kit.
I dunno. Does anyone else have this happen to there car?

Is this bad for my car? Should I drive my car in OD more than in D?
Any input is appreciated.DUECE

I drive my 700R4 in 3rd (D) around town, and Drive(OD) on the highway or country roads to minimize the downshifts.

Its almost definately a downshift. Whether is cause the shift kit or not I have clue.

Ok, we'll go w/ a hard downshift.
Now can this at all be bad for my tranny?
I'm going to run it in D and see if I get better gas milaege in town.
Usually I just keep it in OD. It sounds much meaner in D though.
When in crusing at like 30-35 the RPM's stay at about 2000RPM.
Anyone else wanna chime in?DUECE
