A question on vaders tech article on creating a AFPR

Where did you find the 1/4 - 20 x 1/2 hex bolt and the steel ball? I went to Menards and Home Depot and the shortest they had was 1/4 - 20 x 3/4 and neither had any steel *****.

Other than my inablility to find the correct parts the article looks pretty straight forward. Nice job on the article vader.

Thanks for anyhelp you guys can give me.
Steve

I've been able to find some uncommon hardware nuts and bolts at Sears Hardware. For the ball you might have to get it from someplace that supplies bearings and the like, a machine shop with a decent inventory might have it.

I tried sears also, with no luck . Oh well, I have a while to find them. The car's intake is in pieces, looks like the previous owner decided bolt the entire tpi unit as a whole on to the engine, the hard to get at intake bolts like the ones under the runners were all loose, and it looks like he cross threaded the bolt at the very back on the drivers side, which would be the hardest one to get to with the plenum and runners on. And since we broke a torx bit on the x-threaded one we are being slightly delayed.

S Pearson,

Sorry, but I'm still laughing at that one. Home Depot, Maynerd's, and Farm & Barn won't have what you need. You'll have to vistit a real hardware store.

If you have trouble finding the steel gauge *****, check you local industrial supplier or visit www.McMaster.com.

Ahh yes, I see what you mean. I found everything I needed at this small local "real" hardware store. Now I just need to find someone who can Braze...
