Ok, here's the setup. I'm stuck in the middle of a tpi swap from my 91 TBI to speed density TPI. I'm trying to figure out what to do with the VSS portion. I know all TBI's VSS signal is 2000 pulses per mile and the 90-92 TPI's are 4000 pulses per mile. What can I do? Can I just swap the vehicle speed sensors out or would I have to get a dakota box with buffer? Is there anyway I could just ditch the speed density and go with MAF? I'd like to know all my options here, so if there is anything that can be done to have a properly working TPI please let me know. Thanks.

 

When you grab everything from the donor car, just grab the VSS with it. GM puts it right on the side of the tailshaft, so it's pretty easy to change. The driven gear should be interchangable between the two VSS also.
