OIL smells burned after 100mi?

I've been having ALOT of drivability problems with my new 383 I dont think its the engine its another problem. But when I went to smell the oil it smells like its been burned. Is this normal?

if you haven't done it yet you should change the oil on a new engine to get all the assemply lube and other trash out of it. it shouldn't smell like anything but oil.

if it smells burnt it may have gotten hot, what's the coolent temp run at? i'd change oil and filter, just to be sure, and safe.

The temp guage was reading average 220* mabye a little below while I was driving. Mabye its the lubricants that burned up?

If its a new engine then its time for a oil change anyway. I seem to remember hearing somehing about it but I dont know
