5L TPI won't start After intake gasket change

read thru a bunch of other posts, but still no answer. I just put in new timing cahin and gears, and replaced intake gaskets. car wont start, had dist in #6 and #1 positions, does not even fire or backfire at all. I have checked everything twice, still no go. Am I missing something?

Help.

recheck the timing, sure you got the 2 gears lined up?. put #1 on compression and install the distributor with the rotor pointing to #1 post on the cap. that should be close enough for it to start, if you got the gears in right.

Once you pull the #1 plug to determine TDC compression, just test the plug, make sure its getting spark.

Are you missing fuel or air? If no fire, you have to be missing one or the other.

Do you have fuel pressure? Can you hear the fuel pump when you turn on the key? You might also want to get one of those lights that clip inbetween the injector and the harness to tell you if the injectors are firing.

As stekman said, also check to make sure you have spark.

Could also be the ignition module went bad on you somehow.

thanks for the help guys, but i figured it out: I had the connecter for the sensor under the plenom hooked up to the dist. and vice versa. reconnected and started right up. Had no spark, no wonder.

Doh, that was a dummy move!
