Rotating Engine??

I need to install my distributor on my 350 and i know that u have to get it to tdc and rotate engine....how are you guys rotating your engine? by the flywheel? or starting the car....thanks

I have used what RB has posted; that works just fine.

If the balancer is on the engine, i have used something like this:


I have both in my tool box and both work equally well. I prefer to use the first, however.

For getting TDC compression i use a starter interrupt switch and bump it over, then i manually bring it to TDC once i find the compression stroke.
