Your thoughts please.

Happy to say my car is running well EXCEPT:
I've got a slight hesitation just past idle when slowing getting on the go pedal in neutral. Car hesitates and the rpm fluctuates. Otherwise, I've got good power right up to the redline.
Possibilities?
-I've checked for false air and it looks good (maf setup)
-IAC messing up (how much are these new)
-Injectors going?
-Fuel pump? (filter is new)...so is cap, rotor and plugs and TPS set properly

Thanks all

When my fuel pump went out, the symptoms were quite different from what you are describing, so I would bet that is not your problem. It could possibly be your fuel filter, they are inexpensive and easy to fix, I got a Napa Gold Filter and it works great. I would check to see if you have any vaccum leaks, and also look at your plug wires, since you didn't mention those are new. Also, if it is your IAC, it doesn't need to be replaced, it just needs to be adjusted, and there is a tech article about it on this site.

Great thanks, nice to know it may not be the fuel pump.

So I set it to 450 RPM with the engine warm I take it. Should I clean the IAC? I heard that they can get dirty with carbon.
Thanks

Blade, can you give me a quick rundown on how to clean this thing. You didn't remove the TB did you? I guess it's in my Hanes manual (right along side looking for the fuel pump fuse...he he).
Should I take the housing off too? Can I use Throttle body cleaner?...phew..sorry about all the q's!

Well, I removed the throttle body tubing that leads to the TB and grab the IAC with my bare hands and the thing starts to turn! Must have come loose. 13ftbs, that's all I have to torq this thing down to? (after 89, I think they changed the style). Anyway, I tightened it to 15ftbs and put some RTV blue silicone around the gasket to help it seal better. I think my problems are gone!, thanks all.

BTW, I cleaed out pintle and passage from the TB to the IAC assembly.

Thanks
