What's everyones opinions on different brands? I know the Mellings are supposed to be good, but why are they so much cheaper? I've used one in the past and didn't have problems. What do some of you get for pressure at idle with the Melling pumps-stock and high volume psi numbers would be great. I currently have a Federal Mogul 224-4143 pump and don't like it. Thanks.

not a better pump than a m55 melling, use a #26 spring in it, from mr gasket. unless you have a real need standard volumn is is all you need.

It's a good idea to take the gears out and wire brush them before you install the pump,because sometimes there are burrs left on them from hobbing the teeth.
