switching vacuum and intake of pcv system?

I have read all the post under pcv, and understand for the most part how it works. I will not get rid of my pcv but I am thinking maybe I can switch sides and run a hose from where the intake side (throttle body to passenger side valve cover) over to manifold connection for pcv, then use the driver side with a breather. The only reason I am considering this is for appearance. Since you can hardly see the passenger side valve cover I would like to dress up the drivers side with a breather and chrome cap and run the PCV on the passenger side. Can this be done? Does it matter which side the PCV is on and which side the intake is on or will it work regardless of sides as long as I have both!?

You should have no problem. In the old days the PCV system was actuall under teh intake and came out teh back of teh block... As long as you have a filtered breather to let air in and a PCV sucking out you are fine.....

I don't think that's legal where you are. They WILL check for every hose to be going to every place that a hose is supposed to go, and fail you if it's not there.

Also, if you're doing this for the sake of "appearance", why would you want one of those silly "chrome" things spewing oil all over everything like they always do, right out in the open like that?

If your valve covers are baffled properly there should be no spillage from the breather side of a PCV system. If for some reason it does seep I will just change it back. As far as emissions depends on where you take it, I suppose some places are bigger sticklers than others. Besides it wouldn't take much effort to pull the breather off and stick a hose on, you don't even need any tools, so I am not concerned about that part. More interested in if it made a difference which side breathes and which side sucks.
