I so a can ones that said safe for coat tbi's but I don't remember what brand or where I seen it. I guess the wrong stuff will eat the coating away.Thanks

When cleaning throttle bodies, if there is any question if its coated, I use simple green and a toothbrush.

This works perfect and it won't eat the coating.

I wouldn't use it unless you knew FOR SURE that it won't eat the coating.

Throttle bodies will never idle correctly after a good scrub with the wrong stuff.

I had a customer come in with a surging idle and stalling on his Saleen 351 mustang, after inspection and asking him assorted questions, he admitted to cleaning it with carb cleaner. oops!!

He bought a new throttle body.
