EGR Valve and Smog Pump Removal

I would like to remove the EGR valve and the smog pump on a 1991 TPI just for the ease of putting everything back together. That and saving a bit of cash on a new EGR valve that I would need.
Question:
Would I run into any problems by disconnecting the AIR solenoids and the EGR vacuum valve?
Codes from the computer won't bother me as long as performance doesn't suffer. My main concern is the computer doing something crazy and making the engine run too rich, too lean, choppy, etc.

Thanks

Yanking the smog pump and all its associated parts will not hurt anything nor set any codes. As far as the EGR, I would like to know too!!!!

Go to www.sethirdgen.org there's two great articles on the tech board about EGR operation and it's benefits to the engine, like keeping the intake temperature down.
