It doesn't help anything at all.

For a street car, not a real good idea, especially considering how much work it is to change them again when you figurre out that you shouldn't have done that.

Its an excellent idea! In fact I can even sell you some slightly used ones! All sarcasm aside however, do yourself a favor and don't go with solid mounts. As far as shaking your car apart, with the current combo my car has enough shake to it to begin with, with solid mounts it was like driving in one of those massage chairs you see at the mall sometimes.. it also managed to loosen just about every part of the car that didnt have lock washers or locktite applied. Moral of my story take RB's advice.. he knows what hes talkin about.. if you're building a strip only car then maybe.. street car.. bad idea.

as far as the tranny mount goes though do yourself a favor and get a good poly mount, they work great and don't cost much at all.

poly motor mounts transfer a lot of vibration too, I run stock rubber mounts and a poly tranny mount since they are so adept at breaking on these cars.. might wanna rethink the poly motor mount idea if thats what you had in mind, just my .02 cents.. they can't be as bad as solids at least.
