Only .011 inch clearance!!!

Is .011 inch too little for the clearance between my rod bolts and my block pan rails on my 383?
Also I was using lipstick to check where there was interference in my oil pan...how exact should I be with getting it all off, isn't lipstick petroleum based anyway??

i was thinking .020 was about the least you could run, but i'm not sure. i'd use brake cleaner on a rag to remove the lip stick.

I would say that's too close..I would shoot for .050

I agree with TPI406..shoot for at least .050,but .060 would be the usual clearance on a stroker. You have to be especially careful if you are running forged steel rods you should be fine at .050, anything less would be cutting it too close.
