Comp Cams R Lifters
Has anyone here run the new Comp Cams "R" lifters? Anyone seen gains at higher RPMs like they claim? They are only a few bucks more then the regular replacement lifters so I think im gona go with them unless I hear something bad about them.

I've been running the Comp R's for 2 years now, haven't had any problems with them. Can't say I've seen any high rpm improvement with them because I installed those the same time I did my cam swap. I think it's good insurance if you plan to spin your motor above 6000 rpms (or just go with a solid roller setup).
A lot of the LT1 guys run these lifters and heard of a couple of problems with them. That's not to say it's the lifter's fault, there could've been something else wrong with the valvetrain causing lifter failure.
If you do use the Comp R's, set valve lash no more than 1/4" past zero. Anything past that is too tight.

Im using them. Ive only got 600-700 miles on the engine, and everything is new, so I dont have any back to back results for lifters though. I bought them because I plan on shifting at 6500-6700 and any added insurance is welcome. Plus they cost about the same. One thing I did notice is that it looks like the lifter cant be disassembled.
Interesting, Ive never heard that, I set mine 1/2 turn past zero. Can you elaborate?
