Dot to Dot is #6 firing, right?
OK, I'm in the middle of my cam install, and the actual "swap" is going down tomorrow. According to the manual, I rolled the engine to "0" degrees on the balancer, and had the rotor pointing at the #1 cylinder/compression stroke.
This is where I need you guys to check my figuring. I'm assuming that when I pull my timing cover off, I'll see both dots at 12:00, correct?
Next question. The Dot to Dot seems to be the easiest way to line up everything, so by doing this, I've just essentially rolled the engine over once, and I'm now firing number#6, right?
Last question. I should now roll the engine over once, I should see both dots at 12:00, which is essentially how it was when I pulled the stock cam, and stab the dizzy with the rotor pointing at the #1 wire correct? Beleive me, I marked the heck out of where it was when I pulled it!!!
...and yes, I've been waiting my whole life to have a reason to say "stab the dizzy", in case you were wondering!!!:lala:

You answered every one of your questions correctly yourself
But don't worry about TDC until you need to re-stab the distributer. just pull the timing cover off, line up the dots, pull the cam, install the new cam, line up the dots, then turn the engine to TDC, and "stab the dizzy" with the rotor facing the #1 cylinder
