8 pounds of vac pull?
Is between 6 and 8 pounds of vac pull acceptable? I have about 7 to 6 at the carb and 8 at the intake manifold.
I've got an L69, right now running an edelbrock 1406, Weiand action plus intake and a comp cams 12-238-2. Idle is at about 1000 to 900 and timing is set at a conservative 6* for now.
Is this about right?

I've no idea of the cam grind, but no...that's waayyyy too low for any streetable motor.
Did you just install the cam, or anything else? Could be vacuum leak, severly mistimed motor, swapped plug wires, etc.

Another thing, you maight have the throttle blades opened too far, to compensate for an adjustment/idle problem...but even so, I'd still expect to see more idle vacuum.
