can't get the timing correct
Help!! I've just put together a 5.7 with a crane cam 280H series, actually a blue racer cam wg-1159, and I can't get the car to start or even to fire! I've checked the timing chain, timing marks, distributor, valve adjustments, everything that I can think of, can anyone help?
thanks

Did you make sure that your were on #1 TDC for compression stroke and not exhaust? When the rotor is pointing to the #1 plug wire make sure you are at TDC for #1 and the timing tabs on the timing gear are both at 12 oclock. If one is at 6 and the other is at 12 (meaning you are dot to dot) you are at the firing for #6.
