What is extrue honing or whatever?

What is extrue honing, I hear this term mentioned a lot around the intake areas, what is it exactly, is it some sort of port work that I could do with my Dremel, or would I have to a pay a speed shop to do it?

It's pushing a paste through the passages under high pressure. This paste will hone out the passage walls like a grinding bit but it will do so under more thorough conditions. Not something you can do at home. It's good for intakes with long runners that make it impossible to get a grinding bit into.

It's an expensive machine that can do it so even your local speed shop isn't likely to have one but you can ask them.
