Someone freakin Stole my Engine Harness!!!!!!!

This goes to show how some people can be real *******s. While my motor was being put together in my friends shop, some jerko stole the whole damn engine harness(not computer or mass air system)thank god. So i guess i have no choice but to buy a new one or <gulp> used. Does anyone know where to get an AFFORDABLE engine harness. I want to get the painless wiring engine harness but i heard there no good. No offense but i cant deal with thirdgen resouse. Any other places. please for the love of god help.

Why don't you ask your "friend" if any of his friends own F-bodies or similar setups where they could of used your harness. Sometimes you don't know people as well as you think.

I used the Painless and it's a high quality piece. Mine was just short. Make sure you get the long harness if you use Painless. Their tech dept was excellent.

Vortec,

Wasn't me. The nearest I've been to Flushing was a trip to the restroom this afternoon (sorry - I'll be t you hear that one all the time).

You might consider checking eBay. I've seen several harnesses, ECM/harness combos, etc. offered there. If one comes up from your area, you might want to inquire... And even if you can find one elsewhere, you might be able to get a deal.

Vader ive tried ebay and no luck but rob u say that painless wiring has a longer wiring harness than stock. How much do they go for. As i was told the stock replica from painless is no good and u would have to run the harness to the driver side panel(vise versa) in order for it to fit. Did u have any problems with the harness. In an elapse time how long did it take to hook up everything.

hey custman 87 r u serious. Are u willing to give it to me for free. If u r i appreciate it. One prob. i dont know a damn thing on taking a engin harness out. My friend does(he's a mechanic) and works daily so that might be a problem. If its possible can u take it out and ill pay u for it. If u want to take it out how much to u want for it. If u dont want to take it out ill see if my friend could take a day off and pick up the harness, is that ok.

Hey vortech you might be able to use that harness out of the 86 but there are some PITA repinnings that will need to be redone. Mike Davis (85MikeTPI) has done it, and he has the whole project mapped out to make it a bit easier for you... here is his website: http://www.ece.udel.edu/~davis/z28/

Sorry it took so long getting back. My computer lives behind the passengers side foot kick panel, the harness passes thru the firewall below the heater/ac box. Since I didn't know what I was doing when I installed the TPI motor in the car, I went really slow. Probably 2 or 3 days to route all the wires properly. You get a new ALDL and there are connections for the tranny to disengage lock up torque converter when depressing the brake pedal, neutral safety swtich, fuel pump lines. So I pulled a lot of my interior out to run the lines. I'm not sure how long the "long" Painless harness is. However, my wire loom rides over top the a/c thing filled with desecant (cant remember the name, duh!). Not as attractive as I'd like. I think Bernard Tripp, aka Btripp, aka GMTech over on sethirdgen.org acutally cut and lengthened each wire. But he's pretty smart like that. I'd call Painless and discuss it with them. I have my old 92 Z28 engine harness up in the attic but I've cut a few connectors off here and there.
Let me know if theres anything else I can help with.

If you need the harness e-mail me ottoman45@aol.com and we can set it up...belive me if I was in the mood to take it out myself I would sell it instead of give it away but I work two jobs and only have the weekends for the house and car. If you want to come by one weekend and get it it is yours.
