A/C Question

My A/C doesn't seem to wanna cool very well.

Does anyone know if there were any problems with 3rd gen. A/C systems?
I just put a new blower motor on last year. The air itself is cool, but it doesn't put out very well. Yesterday, I drove 30 miles home from work with the A/C set to "MAX" and the fan set to "4".
It was about 90 degrees out with the threat of rain (which is why I didn't have the t-tops out) and I didn't burn up, but I was sweating with the air wide open. I have 2 other '02 GM vehicles that will freeze you. Is it safe to say that my car can't have as good of air as newer cars?
I don't think the freon is low because the air is cool. Just wondered if anybody could help me with this.

P.S. Don't try to tell me to delete the a/c for power. This is a daily driver! Thanks.

is your condenser plugged up? make sure you have good airflow around it. your freon level could be low as well, did you happen to retrofit your system to -134a? because that usually dosen't cool as well as the -12 thats more than likely in your a/c system. the reason I say more than likely is because I don't know what kind of refirgerant you have in there.

On vehicles this age, another concern is whether the evaporator is clogged with debis, like leaves, insects, etc. That's not as easy to check, but could explain the cold air but low output volume concerns.

I appreciate the input. Teach me! Teach me! I don't know anything about a/c. If someone could give me a "check list" or point me somewhere. The Haynes manual I have doesn't go into much detail. Or point me to a thread somewhere that has touched on this subject a thousand times, probably.
Thanks.
