Advantages over using Vette L98 heads?

I have an 87 LB9 IROC and was aondering what advantages if any the L98 vette heads would give me. I'm thinking about a cam change in the summer and was just wondering about heads too.

Thanks for the time

Robert

They are an extremely high flow SMALL CC intake port design. That equals massive low end torque due to intake velocity. The trick to a fun car is not absolute horsepower but having adequate torque when you mash the gas from moderate cruising. The ZZ4 uses these heads and with the HOT cam has over 400 lb-ft of torque at 3000 RPM not bad for a "little" 350 :-) Try to do that with large port heads.

Other Mods: You name it and I have probably changed it.

Be careful putting 350 heads on a 305. Reasons: 1. 305 has a small chamber and i think usually the 350's are a little bigger so you would have les compression. 2. the 350 heads have a larger valve and you have an itty bitty bore so make sure your valves do not hit the side of the cylinder wall/ deck.

The vette aluminum heads fit on a 305 just fine, wont lose any compression either. If they are ported correctly, they flow quite well too. I would use them if you can get a set cheap.

Madmax is right. The vette heads are 58cc just like stock 305 heads are.
They also weigh a hell of a let less than cast iron, which is another advantage.

I would be very angry if I couldn't run low 13's with that "miniscule 305" You could run so much faster with less money. But, I guess you are different and I respect that.
