This happened yesterday when I was driving, the only thing out of the ordinary that happened was while taking off I shifted from Drive to OD, but slid into neutral and the RPM went to 4000. Now when I take off I hear sort of a sputtering sound coming from the exhaust, I feel like I have lost some power but don't know it may be just in my head. The car has been backfiring in the carb. lately, I have fooled around w/ the choke numerous times to no luck. I figured I will get the timing checked and check out the distributor even though it is nearly new, w/ new plugs and wires.
Any ideas?
