Benefits of 305 heads on a 350
Are there any benefits with 305 heads on a 350?

Smaller combustion chamber on 305. Means more compression. BUT! way smaller valves. You will need to find out if 305 heads can be cut to accept 350 valve seats. Late model 350 intake valve is 1.90.

They can be cut for the 1.94 intake valves but the chamber has to be unshrouded for it. I would use 305 heads on a 350 mainly because if they are stock, even mildy ported they don't breath above 4500 RPM's on a 305, it would be even worse on a 350 with the bigger pistone size. The comp would be great but again the loss at high RPM IMO is not worth the low end gains. If you are dead set on the high compression, i would either get your heads milled to 60cc or get the SR 305 heads. just my .02 cents
