If I'm driving along in 1st, 2nd or, 3rd and try to maintain a constant speed, the car bucks. If I accelerate, it's fine.

Is that surging?

On a side note, if I give it a little gas and move, let's say less than a car length like being stuck in traffic or parallel parking, the car wants to stall and very often does. Giving it gas doesn’t help much either. And if it does stall, it takes about seven or eight crank revolutions to start her up again.

If I shut the engine off normally for a few minutes, she starts with no problem. Only when she stalls does it worry me a little when trying to start up again.

sounds like you either have a vaccume leak or a fuel starvation problem id check your feul filter and fuel pressure and see if the pump is good and check real good for vaccume leaks

 

In addition, you may want to look over your EGR system. They have a reputation that is, shall we say, unfavorable, in the later year cars. If anything it will be good PM.

might also try checking your fuel pump relay and/or test the injectors to make sure they are all working properly. just my .02
