bad knocking sound after engine swap
Here we go, my original 86 lg4 bird engine ****ed itself up i found another bird (83) with a lg4 engine verry cheap so i swapped the engine i put my own 4-barrel intake manifold with 600cfm holley, computer was no more on both engines/cars after about an evening driving the engine start knocking on high rpm`s before i got home it knocked already at 1k rpm i took a valvecover off and now when i start it up i hear a hard constant knocking im thinking of the cam or lifters or somthing but can that make such a loud sound the engine is running bad too. please advise before i start buying new expensive stuff it`s not cheap here in europe.

Generally if it gets louder when you accelerate it's a rod bearing. If it's fairly constant it's in the valve train. But, it could be a wrist pin as well, and it's hard to tell. If you haven't tried adjusting the valve try that first and see if that solves your problem. I know I had some noise like a knock when I bought my car and it turned out to be the #8 cylinder rockers were loose.
