Ok, I don't know enough about this, but if I did a swap for an LT1, would I have to change the computer? or could I stick with the original of the 89 iroc?

One other thing... what kind of fuel injection is on the LT1, I am trying to research my best, and inexpensive option for engine swap.

i dunno about your first question, but an LT1 has multi-port fuel injection. It is close to Tuned Port Injection, but not exactly the same.

use the lt1 ecm and harness, besides being the thing to do it'll be a lot easier.
