could this be a bad sign??
could this be a bad sign??
my dipstick tube for the oil is really really loose....i can wiggle it all around....can the be a potential bad thing....like for and iol leak or something.....and how can i fix it???
It could leak, but probably not, crud builds up around it over the years and kinda stops the leaks.
Just push down on it while wiggling it, if it slides down, grab some bailing wire and wire it still, if it doesn't go down, wire it anyway.

MIne is lose to and has been since 98, no leaks. What has happen most likely is that your bracket that holds the dipstick to the header to prevent it from moving. Well my bracket didn't like the way my headers curved so I had to leave it lose, and no problems with it coming out or anything.

Heh, mines broke, it got broke putting the headers on. One day I'll replace it, until then, I don't know exactly how much oil I have in it. I believe it screws in, try twisting it right, if not, it shoudln't be expensive to replace

It's just a slip fit. Lokar has a really cool flexible tube if you have hedders. Until I got this tube, I just plugged the hole with an orange wire screw and some silicone.
If it's loose from the block (not the manifold bolt) try adding a rubber o-ring and coat the o-ring with some silicone. If you're not losing oil I wouldn;t worry too much about it.
