Solid Roller Lifters

I've seen several references to using solider roller lifters on a hydraulic roller cam.

The cam manufacturers don't rec it, but it can be done. They say you have to maintain a very tight lash for all to be well.

Anyone else heard of this or heard of anyone trying it?

Thoughts?

you have to match the lifters to the cam. running solids on a hydrolic can be done since the lifters all fit the same hole, the big question is how long are you willing to run it before you have to replace the cam.

Never done it on a roller, but I've done it with flat tappets. In case of dire need.... like a semi-emergency when I had some random cam and a set of solid lifters and I had to get a motor to run, and it turned out that the cam was a hydraulic.

The lash wanted to be down around .008" or .010".

Yes it works. But not near as well as the right cam with the right lifters.
