Engine weight??

Does anyone know how much a stock 350 block crank rods and pistons weighs? No heads or intak(obviously) are on it. I'm just wondering if 2 normal sized guys can pick one up and put it in a truck bed?

Ive transfered a 350 block into the trunk of a Lumina before with the help of another person. That included the block, crank, rods, pistons, cam, roller lifter setup, timing gears, and timing cover. It can be done.

Don't know, but I know you guys should be able to do it. I can pick up and move an empty block myself and by far am not a big guy. I've pulled a full engine with only two other guys once (with some rope and a 4x4), but that was an emergency and a biatch!

Me and a friend carried a 350(complete pan to carb, iron heads, iron intake) off of a hoist, about 20 feet over to an engine stand.

Headers make good handles.

They are heavy, but managable, just lift with your legs, not your back. No need to throw your back out over it.

I think a SBC complete is about 500lbs, remove 100 or so for the heads, another 30-40 for manifolds another 10 or so for the intake, you're still left with about 350lbs or so.
