When i bought my 89 formula 350 firebird the kid who used to own it said he couldn't ever get it passed 120 but i have got it up to 135 what is up with that? I never did n e mods. Does it have a govenor and it just stopped working or what?? Like i said I got it to 135 but that was a little to fast for me! I have a 700r4 trans

Nah I know him. He is only a year younger than me that is the only reason I called him a kid. But for real is there a govenor???

It's not a 'governor' in the true sense. The computer shuts your fuel off @ xmph.
This can be solved by rigging a switch to the vss wire. Don't leave it off or the SES light will come on. (How often do you go this fast anyway?)
or the correct way. get a new prom with the speed limited disabled.

So what would you think my top speed would be if I have no speed limiter?? I have got it up to 135 and it is a smooth ride, no vibration or anything.
