Friend just did motor swap, but runs like crap

My friend just recently swapped his 305 TPI for a rebuilt 350, and used the 305 TPI intake. He did get 350 injectors.
Right now we're pretty sure we have all the vacuum lines and electrical connections back correctly. Right now he is running only open headers, a new y-pipe is coming Friday.

Now another friend and I have been telling him time and time again that to get the car running correctly, he will need to get a full exhaust on the car, and switch his ECM for one for a 350. Being his car has a mild cam, is bored over and may have head work, he should probably go with a aftermarket chip. He's still running the stock 305 computer, but he does have the bigger fuel injectors.

So guys, care to settle the arguement here, and get this beast running? We're getting tired of his car revving and revving and not going anywhere, like a honda.

Not sure on the O2 sensors, I'll ask him. As for the computer, he can keep the factory computer, and just get a chip for a 350?

Might also need a 350 knock sensor, they are different.
