Buying new intake, what is the difference?
I'm trying to decide on a new intake and my father suggested an edelbrock, so I went and looked on summit and I found two that should fit my car, both performer intakes.
Their numbers are 2101 and 2104, here are their links:
2101: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...art=EDL%2D2101
2104: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...art=EDL%2D2104
What exactly is the difference there except for 45 bucks in the price?
Thanks.

Sorry about that, I had the link wrong, click it now.
They're both unpolished.

The 2104 is '87-up EGR version, the 2101 is '86-earlier non-EGR.
Neither one is the right one. You need '86-earlier with EGR, 3701.
But, that's not what I would recommend. Consider the WND-8000. Better RPM range, more of an upgrade over the stock manifold than the Edelbrock is.

Just for the record, the intake manifold is about the last thing on the performance "to-do" list for that engine.
1st is the air cleaner (need a dual snorkel - factory are getting harder & harder to find, but it's worth it). Then exhaust (headers on back to the rear bumper needs to be changed). Then ignition (aftermarket coil and module). Then cam - which will require valve spring changes. Then head porting or aftermarket heads (Worlds are about the only 305 choice, and they benefit from porting, too). Then higher stall converter and rear gears.
Then you can think about upgrading the intake manifold.
(Some would say first on the "to-do" is the engine - but that's a different topic...)

Yeah I'm makin a list of things to do, and this isn't the first. The first was actually getting my tranny rebuilt since it only ran in first gear =P
