Sometimes it starts

Got an 88 Roc and when I drive the car for a while and let it heat up, then let it sit for say 5 minutes or so while off, it sometimes doesn't start. When it doesn't start it does not make a sound, the starter is about 4 months old give or take. I thought it might be the alarm system, but i bypassed the relay and it still does it sometimes. Any ideas welcome.

Sounds kinda like heat soak. Have you installed headers on your car? If so you may need to install a heat shield for the starter. Also make sure your battery and charging system are in good condition. When my alternator went dead the starter wouldnt even pop the solenoid when it was hot but it would start right up when it was cold.

Think it might be to blame on the pullies for not charging the battery quite enough? It just gets annoying when you have to get friends to push you down the hill so you can pop the clutch. Oh yea I don't have headers or anything, just what is in my sig.

Sounds like it needs a starter. I wouldn't futz around with heat shields or any of that crap; it will just return to haunt you.

He should at least hear the starter solenoid clicking. Have you checked any other possiblities such as the clutch start switch.

It's on the back of the clutch pedal.
