New carb and a vacuum advanced distributor is all that you should need. I'm gonna find out for myself pretty quick

If his car isn't already carbureted he's going to need a lot more than that.

Electric fans or locking TCC on an automatic need to be considered if you have those and wish to convert to carb/regular distributor.

What year is your car? For some years/engine types, the ecm is readily available from other vehicles. SD TPI uses the ecm as th MPFI 3.1 V6s for example, which are a dime a dozen at a wrecking yard.

MAF TPI used the same ecm as MAF MPFI 2.8 V6s. TBI was used on less different versions, but I believe it is easy to convert to the Truck 747 ecm.

The electric fan and torque converter lockup are easily solved. For the fan, order a temperature switch from summit which will turn it on at 170*. As for the torque converter lockup, You can wire a switch and mount is somewhere in the car. Both can be done for about $30 total.
