How do I disconnect the f%$#%$## knock sensor?!

Alright I'm under the car trying to disconnect the knock sensor, fan switch, and starter wires (89 tpi iroc). I disconnected the sensor highest up on the engine which I believe is the fan switch (they're both single wire connectors) but the lower one with the white plastic shield is giving me fits. Is this the knock sensor? How the he!! do you get it off? I pulled up on some tabs and swung one part of the connector away but it seemed to have no effect. I didn't want to pull too hard.....please help and advice is appreciated!

There should be two raised areas 180* apart on the connector. Squeeze them together and pull. This should let it come off. That's how it works on my harness.

The knock is a white wire. The fan switch is high up near the plugs and the knock is at the base of the block.
