Flywheel help needed -- GM part #s

Long story short, the Formula needs a new flywheel. Normally I'd just call up the GM parts dealer and order a new one, but it appears that it's not so simple now that I've installed the Tremec 3550/TKO, as GM doesn't list a flywheel for that application.

I called up Fortes and they said I could use the "stock 350 flywheel", but GM has 3 of those (t5, t56, and ls1?). Could someone please enlighten me as to which flywheel to use. A part # would help immensely. Thank you.

2 things:

1. You can get a vastly superior flywheel to a GM one (steel vs. cast iron) in the aftermarket, usually for the same or less money.

2. What flywheel did you build it with? It would seem that you should replace it with the same thing.

There are three different flywheels which all have the same outside diameter of 12¾" and 153 teeth, which is what you need.

1)GM p/n 14085720, Lightweight nodular iron flywheel for two piece crank seal. Will work with a clutch diameter of 10.4" only. Crank flange bolt pattern is 3.58". Block year = 1955-85.

2)GM p/n 14088646, Lightweight nodular iron flywheel for one piece crank seal. Will work with a clutch diameter of 10.4" OR 11.0". Crank flange bolt pattern is 3.0". Block year = 1986-UP.

3)GM p/n 14088650, Standard weight flywheel for one piece crank seal. Will work with a clutch diameter of 10.4" only. Crank flange bolt pattern is 3.0". Block year = 1986-UP

So you're looking at your choice of either 2 or 3, unless you have an older block in there.

We just used the stock flywheel from my 305 (did a 350 swap at same time as Tremec). For a clutch I'm using Centerforce Dual Friction. The block is an 88 or 89. There's a new cam in it too (RV) if that makes a difference.

So I should probably get the lightweight? Or should I go aftermarket?

HOW ABOUT this flywheel.

This I believe to be a 1 piece RMS variety. I am too lazy to count teeth, and google is NO help.
