ok i have a problem with my factory tach and a msd 6al. when i plug the "white" tach wire into the coil "h.e.i." coil in cap dis.(proform 50,000 volt unit). the tach WILL work untill i floor the gas and then it drops to nothing!! i tried plugging the "white" tach wire directly into the msd tach output on the side of the msd box. i read in my msd manual you need to just bypass the rf radio suppresor. but, i cant find it!! i"think" its under the dash? but, i cant find it. i dont need or want to buy the tach adapter. and was wondering if anyone had this problem and how you solved it without buying the 25$ tach adapter??

oh yeah only "SERIOUS" replies....please!! i really need the correct info on this .i have a very high perofrmance street engine and need to fix this prob. A.S.A.P.!!

Don't know if this is going to help much, but it would be great if you or anybody else could find out whats "in" that tach adapter. I'd be interested in assembling one myself(notice the signature). Don't really care to purchase one of the adapters.

might wanna post this on electronics board.. i got a 6a box, but dunno what your problem could be

 

You need a tach adapter. Call MSD and order one.

 

If your car doesn't have a tach filter to disconnect and you can't run off of the MSD box, you DO need a MSD Tach Adapter.
