I can't quite figure out what is wrong with my car right now.. I'm leaning towards the starter..

When I put the key in and turn it, it makes a click and the accessories go on but the car doesn't even turn over.. Sometimes i have to try 8 or nine times to get the engine to turn over.. It doesn't crank the engine, it just makes a "click" noise and then nothing....

What does this sound like to you guys? Battery?

 

yeah i think my first guess might be starter too, followed closely by battery. why don't you check them or have someone check them for you.

Well, I thought I had a starter prob too. Battery tested fine at 12 volts...even tested each cell individually...no probs. A friend of mine asked, do you know how old the battery is? I didn't, he said to repace it, if it didn't work, take the battery back. I trust this guy, and so I did, car fired right up.
Just my experience.
