I'd like to know your opinion. :)
Dear Fellow Camaro lovers...
I could not find a proper place to post this question, so I chose to come here, to this forum in order to do it. I want to know your opinion...should I sell my Camaro? I have a lot of trouble making these decisions...maybe its separation anxiety. LOL.
Ok, I know you need to know some facts. Here are some facts about my 1984 Z28:
1. It is just sitting, and has been sitting for about two years.
2. It has a newly rebuilt motor, and needs to be driven. I am not driving it currently.
3. I have had a lot of headaches trying to get a tag for the vehicle, because I live in Atlanta, and my car is NOT emissions legal. I have people I know whom live outside of the metro area, and I could get a tag there in that county...but I have tried repeatedly and failed abysmally at trying to get tags for the car.
4. The engine and tranny are in good shape, but everything else, just about, needs a lot of money invested. The paint is poor, the weatherstripping is all ruined, and the car needs new tires.
5. The car has a 350 with a Comp cam, giving it apx 260 HP. It is not what I want in terms of performance. I want 350 HP or greater.
6. The lower air dam is missing, and the car runs warm constantly. I have been lazy, and not gotten around to putting one on there.
7. The car has body damage to the front drivers side fender, and is an eye sore from that vantage point.
Ok some good things about the car:
1. Cheap insurance
2. All Glass is in tact, and has no big marks or chips
3. Again, the engine is reliable, as is the T400 transmission.
4. It runs well..
5. Has lots of new stuff....new battery, new p/s pump, etc.
If I keep the car, It is going to need about 2000 dollars in repairs/maintenance in the next six months. It needs new tires, new brakes, new belts, new hoses, and possibly a lot more. I am not working, and I could save myself the money if I sell the car now. Maybe I can buy another nice third gen a couple of years down the road...or a 4th gen.
What do you think? I am asking 1500 for the car, and I refuse to take a penny less. Should I sell it, or keep it?
