Bad vibes :( HELPPP!!!!!

I'm getting a really nasty vibration from my motor between 1800rpm - 2400rpm. What could it be? There are no strange sounds coming from it and it runs real smooth otherwise. The vibration is rpm sensitive not road speed sensitive. It happens in neutral too, but it's pretty bad under acceleration. Could the harmonic balancer be the culprit or am I looking at internal engine damage. I never noticed this vibration before my friend decided to do a neutral drop at 3500rpm . (unfortunately, he's still alive ). I don't know how bad the tranny got screwed, but this vibration is driving me nuts. I think it's been getting worse slowly - I don't want it shaking my motor apart.

I got a new tranny mount not too long ago and the motor mounts look pretty good to me. BTW, when a harmonic balancer goes bad does it's appearance indicate it's condition?

Cracked flywheel? Hmm, I dunno... would it cause vibrations? It's a stocker (lame a$$ cam) so I doubt the flywheel could have cracked. Any other ideas?

yeah it Would.

And think about it, nutral drop from 3500 RPm...

converter is spinning happliy with no load on it, Very fast. and then BOOM load. that shock gets transmitted from the motor to trans.

What holes the motor to the trans ? 3 bolts on the flywheel.

sounds pretty logical to me.
