a few questions with simple answers. just need ppl to confirm

when going down the road. my camaro (lg4) is about 190* after a couple of minuites the power of the car surges.up and down up and down..then it stops and my temp becomes 220*.

i think its the thermostat....what would u diagnose that as?

after a while....sometimes when i shut my camaro off the car "diesels".it sounds like its knocking and then it kills (i have no idea)

and last.. my starter has a heat soak problem...

what needs to be changed. (no i will not replace it with a 350)

thanks for your help ..it saves me alot of trouble

What year is your car? I am assuming you have the clutch fan if you have the LG4? You can replace your fan clutch, and fan with better pieces for around $50 or so.

Your problem is with the car stopping after driving, which means you are not getting enough air flow. Clean out the crap in front of your radiator, and think about buying an electric fan to go in front of the radiator. It will help big-time. Go here for more info:

i believe a stout 406 small block will provide a suitable solution.
