Motor Mount Install

Hey, I have the L98 outta my 90 Formula, and I need new motor mounts. I know there are nuts underneath in the crossmember, and I was wondering how the hell I'm supposed to get them off? Thanks.

The big red wrench my friend.

You could undo to A-arms and let those drop outta the way, I think thats the only alternative to using a torch. Although, I have heard of guys bending box end wrenches to fit in that slot. Its a pain any way you look at it.

Have you bought the mounts yet? I have a set I'd like to get rid of. They're the ones from Auto Zone. I bought them when I did my motor swap, but the guy before me must have changed them, cause they were almost new. Becuase of the major PITA it is to change these, I just left them be, and haven't had any problems. I've never got around to returning mine, so if anyone wants em, make an offer.

Doing the mounts really isn't that hard once you figure out the right method and acquire the custom tools
I put a slight bend in a box end wrench to get to the nuts. It just takes some time monkey-ing around with it to make it work.

Only tool we needed was small hands. I don't have small hands but it would have helped. We just used a boxed end wrench and our fingertips. Yes we dropped the wrench and a couple nuts into the crossmember. Wasn't hard getting them out though. It took us about an hour to get both done.
