Why wont my fan come on??

For several months, my fan has not come on automatically. I have to turn on my AC in order for it to come on and keep my engine cool. I know my fan works, but I dont know why it wont come on automatically at a certain temperature. What could it be?

Could be the fan switch itself or the relay. How hot do you let it get before you turn on the A/C to cool it down? Do you still have the stock fan switch? I'd replace it, if I were you...

Could also be your radiator cap not holding pressure.

I'm going to bet its the connector to your fan switch.. Its right by the exhaust on the passenger side head. Over the years the heat makes the plastic brake and the connector can just fall off. I just noticed this on my car when I replaced the intake gaskets.
