Your cam, heads, and gearing will determine what your optimal shift point is. The quality of parts you used in rotating assembly(crank, rods, and pistons) and wether or not good engine building techniques were used will determine if it all holds together.
The best thing would be a trip to a shop with a chassis dyno. At least you'd see on paper where peak power comes in.
Otherwise it's back to back runs moving shift points a couple hundred at a time while watching the MPH on the time slips.

i see, well i have changed almost everything(sig)(still dont know specs on cam till dyno) im planning to get a dyno in 2 weeks anyway so ill just go from there. i dont wanna take a chance and go to high then boom time to empty your bank and visa card lol (students are really poor lol)
till the dyno ill just play it safe, how high should u bring the RPMS in second for a stock 350 engine with say a holley carb, holley intake, and full exhaust?
