line lock install

Just picked up a line lock, do you tap into the front line for the front brake or is it the rear line for the front brake and does the line lock go between the master cylinder and proportioning valve or after the proportioning valve . Thanks 88' IROC

welcome to thirdgen dee. did it come with instructions? you might try looking at the makers web site. without going out and looking i think i ran a line off the rear of the propotioning valve to the selonoid and the from there to each from caliper. i had to relocate the lines to my front brakes.

I have mine spliced into the line between the MC and prop valve. The front brake is the rear of the two lines between the two. What's cool is when you engage it, the brake warning indicator will turn on because of the pressure differential between the front and back brakes -- a poor man's line lock indicator!!

However, take note that NHRA changed their rule for 2001. You can no longer install a line lock before the proportioning valve. So I will have to redo mine. I can't believe I have to do the whole thing over.

To install it after the prop valve, block either of the two front brake lines, splice the line lock into the remaining line, followed by a tee.
