alright guys... I have had this idle problem for two years and been struggling with it. The TPS has been replaced and adjusted. teh IAC and TB have been cleaned and lubed. Various vaccuum lines have been replaced. all TB gaskets replaced. I can't figure out the problem. The engine idles anywhere from 900-1500 and varies during teh drive. It seems like it is a vaccuum leak but i can't find it anywhere. any help would be great.

 

alright quick update... Tonight the idle was stuck at 1800. I turned the car off and then started it again like 10 secs. later and the idle was fine. maybe this will help in diagnosing my problem.

 

Disconnect and cap vacuum operated devices, then reconnect them one at a time. Start with the power brake booster. Don't overlook the PCV valve.

 

i'm not sure i understand what this will do and how exactly to do it...

 

I believe Vader is trying to help you identify the source of your vacuum leak (if any). I have also heard of using a length of hose up to your ear to listen for leaks, as well as spraying some (sensor safe) intake cleaner around to see if the idle increases (indicating area of vacuum leak).

 

tried all that and couldn't find the leak... thats cause there wasn't one. I replaced the IAC and now she runs great. Thanks for all the help guys.
