draining coolant in manifold?

draining coolant in manifold?
how do you specifically drain coolant out of the manifold? when i first took my stock manifold off, water got everywhere.. i dont need this to happen again with my second manifold now. anyone want to enlighten me? when i searched i only got two topics to do with lt1 cam swaps ?

Drain it from the engine. The level will drop, much like draining a pool.
*edit* I've also taken a baster used in cooking and sucked the coolant out. That was when i didnt have access to drain the coolant....took a while, but it worked. Ruined the baster though...

i drained the coolant after i posted this.. alot of coolant still sat in the intake.. and of coarse, when i popped it off, water went everywhere.. im just hoping not too much got into the oil holes.. im doing an oil change tomorrow.
