has any one reused rings on a motor
i am wondering if it can be done with out
ill efficts like blowby.
if it was to be done and i installed the same
rings on the same pistons and placed them in
the same bore that they were taken out of
would it work..

as cheap as you can buy rings i wouldn't even consider it. even good rings are still fairly cheap. as for reusing rings i don't think i would. you'd have to keep the top and bottom sides figured out, as well as what groove it came out of.

You could probably do it with a chrome ring but I doubt you could with a moly. Someone did ask me about my used bearings recently though wtf.

You can reuse the rings if the cylinder walls are still nice and new. However it's not a good idea if you have already removed them from the piston and then reinstall them.
