carb spacer

Should I go and get a spacer? I street race this car. Will this kill some bottom end torque?

very basically the open spacers make more hp and the 4 hole ones make torque. plus they keep the carb cooler. there was a write up in one of the hot rod magazines within the last few months, but i don't remember what one.

Long time ago Ed, it been at least two years ago they had one in summit

Well i have used spacers many times and they do keep the carb cool actualy icy cold on the highway. This could help you if you wanted to run different jets/rods. But a straight slap on will give you no noticeable gain without tunning. It will make a big air gulp sound though Try some of the cheap 15$ auto zone adapters they can be ported and if you screw up it was only 15 buck. Try the q-jet to square flange adapter that seems to be the best. GL SSC
