esc problem, suggestions are appreciated

well i have a, for the most part, stock 91 r.s. 305. i just put a new engine in, and felt good about have a reliable car again. well i was driving and it just lost about 75% of its power and set a code, read the code and its the esc. any suggestions of what specifically this could be? i have replaced the igintion module 3 times now and would doubt that thats what it is once again. any ideas???

You may still have a problem with the ignition module. Have you been using the dielectric grease when you install them? You may also have a wire that is intermitantly shorting and taking out the module.

yeah i use the grease every time i replace it, and i have also replaced about two feet of the wiring as well as the connectors leading to the ignition module. once it sets a code, i turn the car off, then start it again and it will run fine until the first time i get on it even the slightest little bit, then it sets a code again.

Here is something that you can check out, it is mentioned in the service manual. A code 42 can be set by the EST wire harness being routed too close to the sparkplug wires.
